Hellie Morris on Instagram: "I am very fortunate to have excellent VAST practitioner colleagues who I swap time with each week so we can work through our triggers together. I used to think the goal was not to get triggered at all. And while I’m triggered a lot less these days… its still there. The difference now is that I have tools to process it. I can notice what’s happening and recognise that a part of me is reacting and feeling an emotion I don’t like. My Gene Key for Purpose is 49.6 — Reaction, Revolution, Rebirth. My Gene Key for Radiance is 4.6 — Intolerance, Understanding, Forgiveness. So the pattern is quite familiar: I react to something… and then I have an intolerance to the feeling that reaction brings. Back in 2016, in response to Brexit, I started prepping (hoarding!). In the hope that — in prepper language — if I could just have enough 'beans and bog roll' I would be okay. But it turns out no amount of toilet paper has the power to shift fear. There isn’t an external solution that fixes the reaction — only things that temporarily mask it. But… and this is the big one… My body does have a solution. My body has the capacity to feel something, allow it to be there and respond. And somehow the feeling that was there before isn’t gone (suppressed or denied) — it’s alchemised. It becomes something different. Something powerful and positive arises that wouldn’t exist without the initial distress — which turns out to be more like fertiliser for a new state. Today, in the presence of my beautiful colleague Sinead, I got to move from Reaction and Intolerance → to Understanding. I love doing this work and feel very lucky that I get to both facilitate it and experience it. Applying what I’m learning in the Gene Keys to the skills I’ve developed as a VAST Practitioner is a lot of fun and it's own sort of alchemy. 😊 #genekeys #genekey4 #genekey49 ##vastmethodology #fuelprice"
