Selfishness – Altruism – Selflessness
The Shadow of Selfishness – Selfishness is acting out of individual survival at the expense of the collective. On a survival level, Selfishness is the need for nourishment through external sources, such as food and water. When this agenda for survival is out of proportion to its surroundings, Selfishness cuts one off from communal growth and becomes a block for evolution instead of serving the reciprocity of life. Giving inauthentically to others out of fear or guilt is a type of self-sacrificing Selfishness, leading to a depletion of internal resources and gradual deterioration of health. It is just as destructive to bleed out to others without healthy boundaries, leading to a feeling of resentment or imbalanced power dynamics. The reactive side of Selfishness is to be self-centered – giving with the agenda to receive something in return. This manipulative tactic encourages distrust from others or leads to anger when one’s expectations are not satisfied.
The Gift of Altruism – Altruism is the intelligence of generosity that gives to the right people at the right time. Altruism leads to a healthier life for the entire community, even if it is not the life one expected to live. It is an awareness of interdependence that inspires authentic care for others and the sharing of communal resources for collective survival. This deep compassion for others is akin to the love and generosity of a healthy family, creating a magnetic feeling of trust, safety, and deep nurturance for all involved. By extending this type of generosity to others outside of family bloodlines, one can strengthen the sense of communal security and allow mutually beneficial exchanges to flourish within the community. Altruism has a healthy sense of “divine selfishness” so as to not deplete one’s internal resources out of guilt, but rather to tap into universal abundance through acts of compassionate service.
The Siddhi of Selflessness – Selflessness is pure giving without any attachment to personal agendas or recognition. Selflessness is the revelation that all beings are connected in the unified field of consciousness, and to give to another is essential to give to oneself. Truly selfless actions are tapped from the infinite generosity and nourishment of love itself, filling up the one who gives, while they are filling others.

Compassionate Love
Gene Key 36 is love as compassion. Compassion requires we be absolutely human. Take something today that seems unlovable and softly breathe love into it. This can be inside you or in the world. Do this and stand amazed.
