Meet Kayoko

Each month, we introduce one of our Gene Keys Voyagers in order to help you get to know more people in our amazingly diverse global Community. We ask each person to share how they met the Gene Keys, what impact it is having in their lives and where it is leading them. It’s wonderful to see how deeply the Gene Keys are affecting different places and communities in the world through the lens of our beautiful friends. This month, we’d like to introduce Kayoko Sawamura, Gene Keys Guide and Ambassador.

In October 2009, life blessed me with three enormous gifts all at once – Tanmayo, Integral Beauty (formerly Facial Harmony) and the Gene Keys!

I allow my passion to guide me and the practice of patiently waiting for the right moment has often rewarded me with joyful synchronicities. Following my fascination with the English language I decided to study in the UK and it was there that I also found my love of travelling and of the Spanish language and Latin cultures which then led me to Guatemala. It was there that I discovered Kinesiology, and this brought me an opportunity to work for a Kinesiology institute in Japan where I met Tanmayo, who introduced the Gene Keys to Japan and into my life. It was also Tanmayo who introduced me to Integral Beauty, a natural treatment – a practice of presence with the healing power of Integral Touch, and her own creation.

Over time, those gifts have become an integral part of my life and, after almost two rounds of seven-year cycles and some calculation, I realised that I have been a student, translator and organiser, together with our beloved team, of more than sixty workshops and retreats all led by Tanmayo, and focused on awakening. Some of them were inspired by the wisdom of the Gene Keys. Many deeply committed community members participated from the beginning, and their dedication to the inner journey has always been my motivation and huge support.

The Gene Keys teachings and the opportunities to be part of the Japanese translation and Multilingual Matters teams, the Guides Community, Dream Pod, Ambassador Circle and Team 64 have been and continue to be a profound transformational journey for me. And through this journey I have relaxed deeper and deeper into myself.

The Gene Keys expands my vision to see life’s challenges, pain and difficulties as opportunities for learning, healing and growing. As we dive deeper inside, I love how the personal dissolves into the collective. For me, the journey may be likened to the transcendent experience of swimming with dolphins, in a dance when I’m totally absorbed in the beauty of the moment and not thinking about myself. Then I relax deeply and am filled with my breath – I dive deeper and I become one with the ocean.

I’d like to end this with a quote from Tanmayo, which I resonate with very much, and especially as I’m from a region of Japan famous for its spirit of laughter:

‘The Gene Keys are sacred but not serious. Remember to invite the angel of humour.’

Much love and delight to you all.
