Position – Design Associate

Design Associate – position available

Role Summary

We are looking for a creative and enterprising Design Associate to join our Creative Team. This team plays a pivotal role in creating inspiring content and executing our marketing strategy. Our aim is for our creative and marketing efforts to expand our presence in a way that stays true to our values and supports our overall mission of bringing the Gene Keys teachings to our global community and the world.

As our Design Associate, you will work within an already solid foundation and infrastructure as we undergo a significant period of transformation and growth. You will support the creation and production of compelling multi-channel content, social media initiatives, newsletters, articles and engaging narratives that resonate with our global audience.

  • Location: Remote
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (Potential to Grow to Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of our marketing plan and strategy.
  • Plan, create, produce and distribute our weekly ‘The Pulse’ newsletter, including scheduling for launch.
  • Work with a range of imagery and video, and collaborate with our wider team to develop dynamic visual and editorial assets for various projects.
  • Be responsible for sending large email lists and targeted email segments.
  • Create, schedule and publish blog posts.
  • Support social media campaigns which span live events, online events, The Pulse, collaborations, featured books and launches. Includes creating, editing and scheduling posts along with our Social Media Coordinator.
  • Produce and edit web pages and email design templates.
  • Maintain and update design templates for pages, thumbnails and emails.
  • Work with existing templates, and sensitively adapt and evolve them based on our style direction.
  • Collaborate on design and content for pages, articles, resources and videos.
  • Work within a small team to provide cover as needed when other team members are out of the office.
  • Video editing for social media reels, shorts and excerpts.
  • Adhere to our brand’s voice, positioning and messaging across all channels and publications.
  • Ensure consistency in brand identity and voice across all marketing materials, campaigns, and customer/community touchpoints.
  • Be able to follow set structures and templates as well as contribute towards developing larger creative visions and workflows.
  • Draw on the latest digital trends, tools and platforms.
  • Ensure ethical use of AI in line with our philosophy around its use.
  • Support the creation of promotional assets like brochures, templates and design decks, including designing creative presentations.
  • Aiding website design changes.
  • Periodically conceptualising and setting up design templates for social media, video and physical screens.

Qualities that are important

  • Ideally, an embodied passion for the themes and content of the Gene Keys, helping maintain the quality and integrity of the Gene Keys approach, while also catching the wave for new audiences. Familiarity with Gene Keys products.
  • Good relational and communication skills, as well as an ability to work across different types of teams and working styles.
  • Experience with a global online work environment (Zoom and MS Teams meetings, Asana and Slack communication, dancing with different time zones).

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • While a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to graphic design or visual communication is welcome, relevant experience and required skill set are equally important. If you have the experience and skill set without a degree, please still apply!
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in design and content production, ideally with a focus on digital marketing (app experience is preferable).
  • Have an exceptional eye for visual and editorial detail and a passion for clear, strong communication that can be in lockstep with the tone of our brand. Good eye for design, but willing and able to work within our framework rather than creating/defining the brand. Intuitively select the best images and text.
  • Have an understanding of how open-access images are stored and organised in visual databases and archives online.
  • Web media design skills – Canva, Page Editor (Elementor), Email Builder (Brevo and Fluent CRM).
  • Adobe Skills are a plus, also with creating icons, high-quality PDFs, and Photoshop and Illustrator edits.
  • Video editing for social media (using Descript and other video editors to create stories and reels).
  • Technically savvy – comfortable learning new tech platforms and managing the responsibility for large newsletter mailing lists and targeted emails.
  • Copywriting skills are desirable.
  • Demonstrated track record/portfolio of design and content creation/production.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment with shorter lead times and tight turnaround times.
  • An intuitive sense for sourcing and applying appropriate imagery and video.
  • Ability to work with others in the creative team to implement our visual and content-driven campaigns.
  • Strong organisational and personal time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • English as a mother tongue or being a fluent speaker is essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
International experience is preferable, given the nature of the business.
  • Interest in contemplation, spiritual growth, mindfulness, and/or archetypes is a plus!
  • Interest in learning more about the Gene Keys teachings and our unique approach to business (https://genekeys.com/vision). Experience with the Gene Keys is also a plus, but not required.
