Hyena

I am Hyena, wildest of all laughers am I, and most fearless of Warriors am I. I am an energy you humans hardly know what to do with. I am the raw, unbridled energy of creative, sexual fire turned in the direction of awakening through self-empowerment. I am here to empower no one but myself! If you have the courage to work with my people, you will need to work with the energy of abandon. When I rush into the fray for my meal, I think nothing of the lions who believe the prey belongs to them. I ignore them, such as they are, and run headlong into my task with fervour and fearlessness.

My people fear no one. We do not know the meaning of your word ‘risk’. True warriors are we, like your most fearless, intoxicated ones, hurling themselves into battle for the sheer joy of the ride. If you wish to work with my people, just join our pack for a short while. We are a deeply social, people and our laws are simple, although sometimes brutal, but to us, that is how life has always been. If I have loped into your life now, it is a sign that new energies are trying to break through inside you. Such vitality is common among my people, and we take it in our stride. So too must you simply accept the new energies without question or complaint.

But do not tally too long with us, for we will in time overpower your psyche with our raw vitality. We come only when you need a burst of energy to break through a blockage. Where in your life do you need to tear open a stubborn, calcified pattern? We are the great biters - ‘Biting Through’ - as your book says…so go crush the resistance within your own psyche. Rebel against all that tries to be too sanctimonious or hypocritical. We detest hypocrisy. We eat hypocrites for breakfast. Hahaha.

As a Laugher, our medicine is potent. For alone of all the Laughers, our purpose is to laugh at death. Death to your people is taboo. It may not be spoken of freely. Among us death is like going to sleep at night. We go in, we come back. What is the big deal? We come into your life now to help throw you out of one stage into another. Often we do this roughly, as this is our way, but do not worry, you will not be harmed. So human, use our energy wisely as and when you need it, but beware - Hyena Medicine will turn round and bite you hard, if you hang on to it for too long!
