Gene Key 30 is about the sublimation of our desires. Spend some time today entertaining your desires. Allow them to flow unimpeded through your body, heart and mind. Whether you follow them further is your choice. Accept the beauty of this freedom to choose that each of us has been gifted at birth.
Fire Horse
Richard's Contemplation on the Year of the Fire Horse
This week, on February 17th, we will cross the threshold into the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese calendar. With this symbol being spoken about widely at the moment, we invited Richard to share his thoughts on it, particularly in light of 2026 being the Year of the Closing Door.
In this short video, Richard reflects on the Fire Horse as a symbol of acceleration – of technology, time and the pressure on our nervous systems – a moment when life and change seem to move faster than we can easily follow. He contrasts the ‘fire mind’, driven by speed, data and reactivity, with the ‘water mind’, which moves more slowly, from depth and quiet wisdom. This is a gentle, personal reflection on our relationship with time this year, and on the subtle rhythms moving beneath the surface of events.

Along with the seal, the horse is one of the great contemporary symbols of global transformation. In Hindu legend, the final incarnation of Vishnu, known as Kalki, is a white horse who will bring redemption and salvation to the world. The horse has an ancient relationship to humankind, but unlike the dog, it has been viewed less as a pet and more as a servant. If you have the horse as a symbol, your life is bound up with huge and shifting evolutionary currents.
