Reciprocal Luminosity
One of the greatest sufferings of humanity is the grief that we go through when we lose those we love, whether we are the one dying or the one staying behind. Surely the worst kind of grief is one that has no belief and no faith, and holds the idea of just a dropping away into nothingness. It may not be your viewpoint, but it is the materialistic viewpoint of our current age. But what if we did not have to feel that desperate grief of love and loss? What if we knew that we could never be separated from those whom we love? What if our loved ones were like the waves of the ocean?
If we were to bring our focus off the individual wave and, instead, bring our awareness into the ocean, then we would never need to suffer that kind of loss. It would be rather like saying farewell to the guests at a party, knowing that we will see them again soon.
We incarnate in soul groups, or fractals.
There is a great notion that we incarnate in soul groups, in fractals, collectivities or constellations, like crystals – permanent atoms that can interlock perfectly to form geometric symmetries of consciousness. Such consciousness surrounds our planet like a luminous shroud. Souls, or shards of consciousness, are individuating and undulating wave patterns dancing through time and space. Th e whole pattern is constantly evolving. So your mother in one life is your child in another life and your brother in another, and your enemy in another, but always connecting with you, always playing out a theatre of evolution. We travel together in these symmetries, across continents, across gene pools, across aeons of time. Then there is awakening, and when awakening comes, it moves like a virus down the lineages, radiating outwards.
So all our relationships, whether they are good, bad, happy or sad, become a repository of awakening as we trigger more light and growth in each other. The more challenging a relationship is, the greater its potential to trigger our inner luminosity, what I call ‘reciprocal luminosity’, and we share the light with each other, through our relationships.
We play out the shadow patterns, and then, when we are ready, we play out the transformation of those shadows through forgiveness, tolerance, compassion and kindness, through all the dramas that take place in the relationships in all of our lives.
The twin soul, the perfect lover, the binary flame.
What of the enduring myth of the twin soul, the perfect lover, the binary flame that perfectly matches our own? This is a myth we find woven into the drama of the reincarnating soul. We sense a truth in it and covet it through our art, our music, romance and dramas. We long for a perfect union with another. It has been said that we get to be with our twin soul twelve times only in all our incarnations, twelve times in twelve eons. It is a myth – but who knows?
We dream of a life where we rest with our beloved, the crystal that interlocks perfectly with our own, the Vesica Piscis, the myth of perfect, true love, and this memory lives in us in each lifetime. It may be that we meet this twin soul many times, but we cannot be with them because they end up married to another or perhaps the timing is just off. Perhaps they incarnated as our brother, our mother or even our child. Perhaps the wounds we carry in this particular life are just too great to make it possible for us to be together, or perhaps we incarnate as enemies and we destroy each other, or perhaps one stays out of the form while the other is in, and all we feel is a deep, lonely ache of the loss because we cannot feel them here.
Through this practice, we are transforming finite reservoirs of fear, and one day, we will get to the last few atoms of fear left inside us. These are the most stubborn ones. We must give these remnants our ultimate gentleness as they disappear into the vast light of the consciousness that lives inside us, behind the fear.
So, I invite you to become a hunter and go and find your fear. Don’t wait for it to find you. And when you have found your fear, be gentle with it as it transmutes, and you will soon find a miracle unravelling before your very heart.
The drama is Shakespearean.
The drama is Shakespearean. It is unendingly beautiful in its ache, but it is here simply to teach us, so that we can learn to open, to grow, forgive and let go, and one day begin to transcend the drama itself, even the drama of perfect love. This is the purpose of it all: to slowly learn to become detached, the Great teachers have guided us towards this, to let go of the outer quest for love and for truth, which is always ephemeral, and to seek the eternal within. We have to come to this Great Truth. As our awareness of it grows, our love grows with it, and truth is revealed within us like a memory, and so we begin to awaken. We see that we are playing a role, and a detachment arises as we surrender deeper into the whole, into the drama and the dance.
With this detachment comes a vast love, a love that transcends any individual connections. So when a loved one dies, we remember that they live inside our heart and our heart is eternal. They are actually a part of our greater collective body. Each soul group, each constellation, interlocks with another and another, to form the great collectivity of humanity’s higher self, the Oversoul, a higher collective beyond our comprehension.
Reciprocal luminosity is like a supernova. It triggers greater and greater awakening and inner light, and there is only one direction on the path. While good and evil are played out on the stage, the awakening of truth is beyond both, although as Swami Vivekananda said, ‘Good is very close to truth.’ And so the story goes on. Incarnations come and go, and we polish the jewel of our being as we draw light from all those around us. When one awakens, grace pours through that whole lineage, that fractal, and within a few generations the whole fractal awakens in a chain reaction, like the petals of a flower. This is the dance and the drama to contemplate.
The Sun is an Earth that has already ascended.
Consider also the image of the sun, because the sun is our planet in the future. You probably think of the sun as a turbulent mass of hydrogen and helium, as our scientists say. And it is that, but what if it is more? If you deconstruct a human body, all you find is the elements. You will never find the indwelling soul. How would anyone find that? I came across an article by a scientist who was trying to prove that life after death cannot exist because we know how atoms behave. It seemed like a desperate materialistic mind clinging to the wreckage of a sinking ship.
In my view, the sun is an earth that has already ascended, and all the chains of its being, all the families of its individuated awareness, all the collectivities, constellations and soul groups have realised their collective oversoul. The luminosity triggered a chain reaction at the core and the result is a collective awakening far beyond our understanding. That is where we are heading. It first began millennia ago, but the chain reaction is starting now, in this current epoch, as more and more individuals are waking up through the drama and realising their divinity.
So it begins, the beginning of the end of reincarnation itself.
So it begins, the beginning of the end of reincarnation itself. For, when the whole begins to realise what it is through its parts, the game is over.
For me, the very presence of the sun is evidence of the eternal, even though we know that the sun too will one day die. It is a symbol of the inner truth, and the outer is modelled on the inner. The earth revolves, night comes, and every morning we are born again. The sun remains constant, and it is we who move. It shines even in the depths of night, and it is the same with us, as even in the depths of our suffering, our eternal flame is burning as brightly as ever.Â
Contemplate these things, particularly when you are next around those who are dying. Remind yourself that you will not be apart from this being who is leaving. It is a temporary farewell, a veil drawn over your eyes but never drawn over your heart. Our heart knows the truth of eternity. All our beloveds live forever inside our heart, and they are part of the one heart.
Let death awaken an even greater love inside you. And let the passing of a loved one be the wave that carries you into the great ocean where all hearts are one heart.
