Constriction – Acceptance – Universal Love

The Shadow of Constriction – Constriction is the tightening of one’s breath or body in response to challenging situations. Constriction is a direct physical response to all types of fear, essentially the terror of death and non-existence. Recoiling from the pain of one’s challenges leads to a life of denial and distraction. Constriction is obsessed with the material world, and clings to things and people for security. This grasping inevitably distorts and restricts the natural flow of love. On a societal level, Constriction is represented by border walls, territory wars, and attitudes about time and money that create a global field of tension and pressure. Repressing this natural fear creates a state of ignorance and inability to look at one’s real pain. Reacting against this fear through anger creates a state of cold-hearted meanness projected at others in an attempt to avoid one’s own suffering.

The Gift of Acceptance – Acceptance is the softening of one’s reactive tendencies to avoid or recoil in the face of pain and suffering. Acceptance begins by deepening the breath and allowing the physical sensations of what is happening in the present moment to simply exist. Acceptance becomes a calm optimism that acknowledges what is occurring while simultaneously breathing more loving awareness into the moment. Acceptance is able to walk without judgment of others and see the seed of love in all of humanity. By relaxing and accepting oneself in the present moment, love is able to flow more effortlessly to all beings.

The Siddhi of Universal Love – Universal Love is the fundamental nature of reality and the vital life force that connects all beings and experiences throughout time and space. Universal Love is the deep embrace of suffering as a part of the divine pattern. It is the radical ability to see humanity’s struggle blossoming into the beauty and grace of compassionate understanding.
