Is It Real?

Fragments of light

Fragments of Light

‘Fragments of Light’ began as various personal insights shared by Richard in his YouTube videos about the art of contemplation and the Gene Keys. Over time, these reflections were thoughtfully reshaped by Juliet Savage into a book that feels both clear and timeless. These illuminating and inspiring stories have been refined, yet still retain a personal touch, accurately reflecting the experiences that influenced them. Each story in the collection invites you to pause, reflect and connect with your inner journey.

Is It Real?

Is there such a thing as reincarnation? What is it? Many spiritual teachers and teachers of wisdom are asked this, and of course there are many opinions.

When Christ said, ‘In my Father’s house are many mansions,’ I think he was saying that there are many layers of reality that we can exist in. There are gradations of frequency, and all realities, excepting the ultimate reality, are relative. They have a relativity to them, a relative truth. The ultimate truth is beyond words and concepts.

What’s the point in adopting a relative truth?

You might say, ‘What’s the point in adopting a relative truth?’ The answer is that relative truths are like the rungs on a ladder that lead to the absolute truth. So if a relative truth gives you an improved life and puts you at ease, why would you not adopt it? That is a great question to begin with.

You can look at different truths as you would books on a shelf. You pick out a truth, and if it resonates with you, you take it as your truth and decide to live by it. We all pull out these books, these concepts, from the shelves of existence and then we live by them. Sometimes we discard them and open a new one, have some kind of a breakthrough, or even a breakdown, and then we take a different book, a different truth. That is life as a human, and it is how the mind operates. So, reincarnation is one of those mansions, one of those layers, and one of those levels.

A very relaxing truth.

There is a lovely quote from 1928 by Henry Ford, the American industrialist – the car man – he was a big fan of reincarnation: ‘I adopted the theory of reincarnation when I was twenty-six. Religion offered nothing to the point. Even work could not give me complete satisfaction. Work is futile if we cannot utilise the experience we collect in one life in the next. When I discovered reincarnation, it was as if I had found a universal plan. I realised that there was a chance to work out my ideas. Time was no longer limited, I was no longer a slave to the hands of the clock.

Genius is experience. Some seem to think that it is a gift or talent, but it is the fruit of long experience in many lives. The discovery of reincarnation put my mind at ease. If you preserve a record of this conversation, write it so that it puts men’s minds at ease. I would like to communicate to others the calmness that the long view of life gives to us.’

This view has been central to the Hindu culture for thousands of years, and has its advantages and disadvantages. Some say it will make us lazy, ‘Oh well, I will have another life.’ Personally, at the level my mind operates within these layers, I find it a very relaxing truth, as Henry Ford did.

Within the fabric of the cosmos, rebirth is something we see everywhere, and there is a great deal of evidence out there that points to reincarnation. For instance, there have been many children found to have clear memories of their previous lives, and there are records of this that you can find online, and a lot to be found on the subject. However, I am not interested in proving it; I just want to show the validity of a healthy viewpoint. As long as you understand it as that, it has a relative truth. Then you can adopt it and make use of it, and it may lead you somewhere, as it did for Henry Ford. He discovered that it enabled him to relax and take a much longer view. I am a bit like that too with the work I do, as I am really interested in the bigger picture of helping this planet.

The long-term view is very generous.

There is another view that we have been conditioned with, a kind of pressure, that comes from the non-dualists (for example, the Buddhists, who I love), which is that we take no views at all, or else all views are false, which is true. But then there is the pressure on those who believe that, ‘We’ve got to become enlightened – we’ve got to get it all done.’ That pressure can sometimes create a tension in us, a kind of pressured spiritual conditioning which could create a good or a bad tension, ‘I’ve got to get enlightened. I can’t hold any views as they are all false.’ This can put you in a kind of funk. But if that is your path, then that is your path, you should celebrate it and go for it – but then this may not be of so much interest to you.

One of the great vows that has come out of Buddhism is the Boddhisattva vow, which is the vow that a soul takes to never leave this plane until all are enlightened. In other words, to keep coming back, and be reborn into the world, and help bring everyone out of the Maya and towards the light. It is a wonderful vow, and it leads to a deeply compassionate view of the world. If you have some work that you want to achieve on the human plane, the long-term view is very generous. If you see it as multi-generational work, then it could be something you perceive yourself as incarnating back into to continue.

The work of the Gene Keys that I am doing is creating a synthesis of world teachings and a global community who are able to come into the embodiment of the teachings together, over time – and it does take time. Even with having the resources to be able to manifest things on the physical plane, it takes a long time. Also, people are dying, and new people are being born, and so there is a whole story unfolding all the time. If you place yourself in the wider context of that, you can really see where you want to be going.

Often, we focus on our past lives and who we were, and the karma we brought with us into this life. But I am more interested in who I am going to be, because who I am going to be is being created and imprinted out of how I am now, from my thoughts and my behaviour. So I am setting my trajectory into the future, which can be a really beautiful thing.

Why not linger?

There is also a part of us that wants to get out of this game, because we suffer here and sometimes it’s really not fun! But I think that is a stage that we have to get past until we really enjoy being here. Why not linger, why not do some work here? Why not see it as, ‘I have a project, a global project, potentially, that I want to be part of with others, with the community, with a family of people I love, who I want to meet again. I want to come back into this, carry on this work and go deeper and refine my spiritual path.’ So give yourself that gift. With this view, you can set your future trajectory from the present.

Going back into the past may have its uses, although it has been said that if you were to remember all your lives, your brain would not be able to handle it and you would go mad, because there are so many lives and so many layers to each life. You have been around for so long, and you have experienced every conceivable aspect of planetary behaviour, crisis, conflict, suffering, love, sex, joy, all of it. It is all part of who you are. It has led you here and to a spiritual path of awakening, where you can begin to draw on all that experience that your soul has. There is an aspect of your soul that retains that wisdom, that enables you to see further, to have clarity, love more, and accelerate your own evolution.

Algorithms of incarnation.

In one of the deep mystical experiences I had in the past, I saw the algorithms of incarnation. I saw that everything has mathematics, and a formula, and an algorithm. If you knew these algorithms, you would see the path of all your lives and the strand that connects you to them through space-time while you are here on this planet, living out your lessons on this evolutionary journey. You can even project it into the future because it is connected to timelines and dates, and you can work everything out. When I came out of that state, I did not retain the memory of all the algorithms and the details, and I had an insight that was, ‘Well, what would be the point? Isn’t it more important to live inside this theatre, this current world stage, and fully inhabit these bodies that we are in?’

One day I will probably explore the possibilities of incarnative cycles. Having this broader view and really adopting it releases a lot of fear and tension, particularly around death and dying. It means that we can die consciously, and seed the trajectory of where we want to go. And when we are ready to leave, we will leave everything behind and ascend to another plane. Wonderful.

So we can allow ourselves the thought that, ‘Well, maybe I will come back. That might be nice, and I will get to see my loved ones in other forms. It may be that I won’t remember them on a mental level, but I will remember them on a cellular level, in the cells of my being.’ Reincarnation is a fascinating realm with many things to think about, digest and contemplate, and many different strands woven into it. It can be really healthy to adopt it, but it is a subject you can be playful with, so hold it lightly.

‘In my Father’s house are many mansions.’ Which ones will you inhabit?
