Meet BJ Garcia
Every now and then on the Pulse, we like to introduce a member of our wonderfully diverse Gene Keys global community. We ask each person to share how they met the Gene Keys, what impact it is having in their lives and where it is leading them. It’s wonderful to see how deeply the Gene Keys are affecting different places and communities in the world through the lens of our beautiful friends. This month, we’d like to introduce BJ Garcia, Gene Keys Guide and Ambassador.
My story is one of a Divine Journey guided by Love.
I feel blessed that the first fourteen years of my life were spent running barefoot in the foothills and orange groves of Southern California. There was much turbulence and chaos growing up in an alcoholic environment, and nature provided me with the freedom and solace to escape from it for moments at a time. As home life fell apart, Love, in the form of my grandparents, brought us to Texas. In losing all that I had known before, I was now adapting to life in a new way and a new environment by repressing and rejecting the pain of the past, closing my heart off and moving into a superficial way of being.
The search for love and happiness returned in my mid-twenties with the desire for marriage and family. In fulfilling that dream and being blessed with a wonderful husband and two beautiful children, there was still a void deep inside, a desire for something more, and a cry to the Universe for help.
That cry for help was answered in an unexpected way. My mother, whom I had been at war with most of my life, was diagnosed with cancer and the responsibility for her care fell on me. Much to my surprise, and gratefully, this became a blessed two-year journey of healing our relationship. In the last minutes of her life, she passed this message on to me, she said, ‘Don’t wait until the last twenty minutes of your life to know what life is about.’ My spiritual journey began shortly after.
The search for what life means to me has taken me through many spiritual and psychological teachers and teachings. For twenty-five years, my path of healing and self-discovery was through mastering and teaching Neurolinguistics, Hypnotherapy, and the Enneagram.
In 2014, I was introduced to the Gene Keys through a very loving and insistent friend and astrologer, and my life path changed instantly. I realized that all I had done before was in preparation to receive this transmission. As I continue to dive deeply into the Golden Path, every step presents a new realization, a new awareness, and a deeper confirmation of truth. Through the Venus Sequence, I experienced a breakthrough of remembering the time, at age fourteen, of closing my heart off to love, family, community, and self. The pain of separation felt within was overwhelming and a dam of tears flooded my being as my heart, which had been closed and guarded for so many years, broke wide open and I was forever changed.
