Questions about the Lines

Why is the line 1 in Relating negative ‘dissonance’ and all the other lines positive (feedback, sharing, distillation, etc)?

It is helpful to remember that Richard says the dissonance will remain with us right through the whole process, so everyone will experience it to some degree. This process is about being able to find the gift within the dissonance, and it is a gift that you can feel the dissonance that others may not be able to. You can breathe through it and be the anchor for the whole group in this way. It is great that the line 1 does not wobble when others do, and simply allows them to have their process. As with all of the keywords, although the word sounds negative, there is great beauty in it as we allow it to reveal the gift.  

Some of the other lines may not always seem so “positive” either. People with Line 4 Sharing might tell you it is quite difficult to want to be able to share, but not finding a place where you feel heard or understood. And ask any musician about the word ‘feedback’ and they will tell you it is not always a gift!

Every aspect of the Gene Keys will carry with it a shadow, a gift and a higher purpose or siddhi. It is our journey of contemplation that helps us to understand how to best use these words as a launch platform for our own wisdom to emerge. 

I’ve noticed when contemplating Gene keys that sometimes it feels like the Gene Key is flavored by the line and other times the line feels like the predominant energy. is it true that the line energy sometimes can take precedence?

At times you might find that the line themes are much easier to see and can appear to take precedence in your contemplations, for sure. And because they take precedence they could help to inform the contemplation of your Gene Key in greater depth, as you observe the dance between them. The more aware you become of the universal themes related to the lines, the more you will see them at play in your life and in partnership with Gene Keys.
