In many Kabbalistic traditions exploring the Tree of Life, Saturn (represented by the Sphere of “Binah” or “Understanding) can be seen to be the higher octave of Venus. In this approach, Saturn can take on a mythical archetype as the overarching mother of matter itself, where Venus’s victorious love (Netsach) rises up and out of the world of Matter (Malkuth). Other Kabbalistic stories remind us that the spirit of the Shekinah (divine feminine presence) is deeply connected between Earth, Venus, & Saturn.
These are some stories from various traditions where this connection between Saturn & Venus is seen, but there are many different interpretations of astrological bodies from different perspectives.
Often Saturn has been given a “rough interpretation” connecting the energy to intense rules, rigor, and structure from a more patriarachal approach. However, in other stories she is seen as the benevolent and wise grandmother, the wisened crone who guides the young maiden into creation. From this perspective, she is the wise and timeless wisdom of the supernal triad that guides the energy of love into understanding.
As always with different approaches and traditions, you need to trust your own intuitive guidance. And known which realm you are working in. It is not a one size fits all answer – but an important contemplative inquiry.
How can Saturn (Stability) help me to tune in to the higher frequencies of Venus/Love (SQ)?
